The Customer Sounding Board

The Customer Sounding Board is a group of people made up of tenants of Golding Homes. The CSB is one of our methods of consulting with tenants & leaseholders. Some of their responsibilities are:A customer sounding board meeting

  • Review and consult on new or updated Policies
  • Represent tenants on Best Value Review Groups
  • Take an active role in continuous monitoring of key contracts such as repairs, grounds maintenance and gas maintenance
  • Represent tenants on key service forums such as Equality & Diversity, Editorial Panel, Rents, Anti-Social Behaviour

The CSB meet on a regular basis to carry out these roles. The meetings will also accommodate guest speakers from various aspects of Social Housing to give the CSB a broader understanding.

How did the Customer Sounding Board start?

The Customer Sounding Board was formed on 13 January 2009 following a recruitment process which began in October 2008. Letters were sent to all tenants inviting to join. 272 applications were received.

These applications were sorted to ensure, as far as possible, the profile of the group reflected the organisation’s Tenant profile in terms of:

  • Gender
  • Age
  • Ethnicity
  • Disability
  • Geography
  • Property Type

41 people were invited to join after a random selection process and a tenancy check. The main aim of the group was to have a minimum of 30 members; the total at present is 37 tenants. If the number of members drops beneath 30 we will recruit more members in the future.

The Constitution

Each member has adopted the Constitution and Code of Conduct. The Constitution details how the group will be run under the following headings:

  • Aims
  • Membership
  • Voting
  • Equal Opportunities
  • Officers of The Group
  • Meetings
  • Annual General Meetings
  • Quorum
  • Finance
  • Dissolution
