Golding Homes has published plans for a new garden suburb on over 350 acres of potential development land to the south east of Maidstone.
The proposed development would provide the opportunity to create a new community of up to 5,000 high quality, sustainable homes based on three walkable suburbs, with its own local services and infrastructure.
In addition, the site would provide commercial space, retail and other community and leisure facilities, open space and recreational areas.
This proposal and has been submitted to Maidstone Borough Council in response to its call for sites for development under the Local Development Framework Core Strategy
Chris Blundell, Golding Homes’ Director of Development and Regeneration said: “A new settlement of this scale could bring a powerful boost to the local economy and create jobs for local people. It has the potential to provide a large part of the residential and employment supply needed for the further growth of the town and would enable transport improvements which would benefit the whole of Maidstone.
This is a unique opportunity to develop a vibrant new community that both reflects and respects its environment and creates a special place where people choose to live and work. This is just the first stage of a long process which will involve a full programme of consultation with local residents and stakeholders.”
