Where's Goldie now? Our Ashford Snowdog

Last year, we sponsored a snowdog as part of Ashford Borough Council's Snowdogs project. Snowdogs Discover Ashford was brought to the town over 10 weeks between September and November in a joint initiative by Wild in Art, Ashford Borough Council and Pilgrims Hospices.

The Snowdog trail, made up of 35 different painted Snowdogs, went on display in the Ashford borough aimed at encouraging local residents to get out in the fresh air, working together to complete the trail and find all of the dogs.

Golding Homes was proud to be involved, sponsoring one of the dogs called Goldie, designed by local artist Lois Cordelia.

After the project, all 35 of the Snowdog sculptures were auctioned by the Pilgrims Hospice, raising a total of £143,000 for the charity. Goldie was bought at the auction for £3,200 by Ashford Councillor, Gerry Clarkson, who has placed the dog in his back garden. We recently paid Goldie a visit to see him in his new home, accompanied by Lois Cordelia.
