Artwork by Five Acre Wood School unveiled at Fielding Park regeneration site

Pupils from Five Acre Wood School in Maidstone visited Fielding Park regeneration, in Shepway, to see the unveiling of their artwork around the development site.
Golding Homes, and project partner Skillcrown, wanted to involve the local community in the transformation of their area so they reached out to the school to help add colour and vibrancy to the hoardings.
Tom Casey, Director of Development and Strategic Asset Management, Golding, said: “We’re proud, along with Skillcrown, to engage with Five Acre Wood School on this exciting project to brighten up the hoardings. Working alongside the students to create the artwork was a fantastic way to celebrate creativity and community spirit, while marking the next chapter for Shepway. We’re delighted to show off the finished designs and share this milestone with local residents.”
Matt Arnold, Land and Development Director, Skillcrown said: “It’s been a absolute pleasure working with Five Acre Wood School and Golding Homes on this project. The pupils have done an incredible job - their artwork has completely transformed the hoarding and brought real colour and life to the site. At Skillcrown, we see regeneration as being about more than just building homes, it’s about creating places people can be proud of. It’s fantastic to see the students’ creativity making such a positive impact in the heart of the Shepway community."
Pupils were encouraged to base their designs on different themes including Love, community and the Environment and from their pictures it’s clear to see how inspired they were to bring their individually unique visions to life.
Karine Bennett, a teacher from Five Acre Wood School, said: “Our students fully embraced the opportunity to take part in the art project to celebrate in bold colours and patterns the building of the new and exciting housing development in our local community. It has been a fun project to get involved in. The display of their artwork looks absolutely amazing.”
When complete, Fielding Park will be a vibrant new community of homes, community facilities, a shopping area, and community spaces, at the heart of Shepway.
Phase one of the regeneration is progressing well and due to be completed by Spring 2026. Work has also started on phase two with all six of the old blocks fully demolished and preparations for the next stage underway.
