Communal spaces are transformed thanks to social value funding
Over the last few months, we’ve been working with our contractors Anamore, Durable and Niblock to deliver three social value projects to improve communal spaces for our customers.
Anamore has installed over ten raised beds at Wrens Cross in Maidstone, helping to transform and uplift the courtyard and create a more welcoming outdoor area for customers to enjoy. They also donated £1,400 to Macmillan Cancer Support, our charity of the year.
Durable has repaired the collapsed raised beds and damaged roof at Titchfield Day Centre in Senacre, addressing improvements that were specifically requested by our customers. Connie Burkin at Durable said: “We’ve loved working on the garden community project and are pleased that our expertise has come to good use. We hope customers are pleased, and that it has made a difference.”
Niblock installed a new storage unit and benches at New Zealand Blocks in Park Wood, following a consultation with customers last year about what they would like to see here. Jodie Pitt at Niblock said: “We’re really pleased to have delivered this initiative as part of our social value commitment. The children regularly use the area to play, and customers had identified the need for additional seating and storage. We’re delighted to provide the new benches and shed to help improve the garden and create a more welcoming and enjoyable communal area for everyone.”
Helen Critcher, Golding Homes Community Investment Manager said: “A huge thank you to these three contractors for helping us turn these ideas into reality and for making such a positive difference to our communities. It’s fantastic to see over £10,000 being invested directly into spaces that matter to our customers. We’re looking forward to seeing even more brilliant uplift projects take shape over the coming months.”
