Gold for Golding!

Great news – we’ve been awarded a Gold rating for sustainability for the third year running.
It’s the fourth time we’ve been assessed by SHIFT (Sustainable Homes Index for Tomorrow), which benchmarks best practice in sustainability across the social housing sector.
The assessment looked at a range of environmental criteria, such as the energy and water efficiency of homes, sustainability of new developments and the environmental performance of the business.
Our results saw a 3% improvement from last year, reflecting our investment in sustainability and commitment to achieving year-on-year environmental improvements, and for the first time we’ve ranked first among our peers in the sector.
Over the last year, we’ve invested £9 million in improving the energy efficiency of our homes, through initiatives such as installing air source heat pumps, topping up insulation, replacing boilers and installing low-energy lightbulbs, as we work towards making sure every home has an EPC C rating by 2030.
We’ve also launched a new energy and water advice service for our customers, to help them run their homes more efficiently and save money.
Lucy Breeze, Sustainability Manager at Golding Homes, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve again achieved the SHIFT Gold accreditation, demonstrating our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and make Golding greener.
“Over the last year, we’ve continued to work hard to put sustainability at the heart of our business by improving the energy efficiency of our homes, installing electric vehicle chargers at our office, building more energy efficient new homes and working with our supply chain reduce the environmental impact of our contracts – all of which is reflected in our increased score.”
