Jaine loves the security of her new Shared Ownership home
New homeowner Jaine loves the freedom and security of her brand new, two-bed shared ownership house, close to extended family but also perfectly placed to allow her time for herself.
“I’ve always been the focus of social gatherings, when I had a large home and garden and during our time running a pub, the party would always be at mine, but I’m doing this for me and I’m happy’, said Jaine.
For Jaine it’s a fresh start after a sudden change in her personal circumstances resulted in finding herself renting again at this point in her life.
She said: “I was living in a static van with my 19-year-old son and Bonnie my Golden retriever. We didn’t really have a lot of room and no privacy. In my situation I couldn’t afford to buy a home outright. Shared ownership is a really good option for me. I’m only paying a little bit more a month to live here than when I lived in my van, which is absolutely crazy. For me, it’s a no brainer.”
In her search for a new home, she looked at a range of options in various locations. Shared ownership was something she’d considered but wasn’t sure would be available to her until the opportunity to buy through Golding Homes. Jaine acquired a 25% equity share, which in time, through staircasing, she’d like to add to and own more of her home.
