We Care Award Winner

Our We Care awards recognise those “silent heroes” like Charlotte Ankers-Brampton in our communities that go the extra mile to help others.

Charlotte was put forward by Golding customer, Phill Montague for starting a charity called ‘A Survivor's Story’ which helps men, women and children who have just come out of abusive relationships.

Phill said: “The charity offers Domestic Abuse ( DA ) survivors and victims with support. They run DA awareness sessions and also provide support packs with leaflets on services and contact information on relevant organisations. Charlotte was previously in an abusive relationship and works very hard for this charity whilst raising her young family.”

For her reward Charlotte chose vouchers to take all the volunteers out for a Christmas meal, as well as some presents and food for her famil y .

Charlotte said: “I was really shocked when I got the phone call to say I’d won this award. I set A Survivor’s Story up to help women, men and children that have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse. All our volunteers have an understanding of  DA and are here to listen and help however we can."
