Golding Homes secures £10k funding boost for Maidstone Homeless Care

We're pleased to have successfully secured a five-figure grant for a local charity that supports the homeless.
Maidstone Homeless Care, based in Knightrider Street, has been running for over 35 years and supports homeless and vulnerable people with its day centre and food bank, as well as providing hot meals, showers, laundry facilities, mental health support and access to other services.
The £10,000 grant is from the charitable foundation of the South East Consortium. It’ll enable the charity to run its day centre, provide food parcels to vulnerable homes in Maidstone and keep its food van running, which makes collections and delivers food to people in need.
Tom Casey, Director of Development and Strategic Asset Management at Golding Homes, said: “Supporting Maidstone Homeless Care means a lot to us at Golding. They were nominated by colleagues as our charity of the year in memory of Sarah Norrington, a colleague we sadly lost last year, as the charity was close to her heart.
“I had the pleasure of visiting the day centre recently and was struck by impact this local charity has, from providing basics that we take for granted – like food and showers – to helping people access vital services like health practitioners, housing advice and mental health support.
“We’re really pleased to be able to secure this significant funding for them and know it’ll make a real difference.”
Leone Crowder of the South East Consortium said: “We’re really proud to support such an incredible charity that’s doing vital work to help vulnerable men and women. It was inspiring to see the real difference they’re making in the community, and we’re glad to be able to support a part of that journey.
“Our commitment to giving back to the community is at the core of our values. With our Foundation we aim to make a positive impact and help those in need.
“A big thank you to Golding Homes for nominating them —it’s great to see businesses coming together to support such important causes.”
Heidi Griffen, Day Centre Manager at Maidstone Homeless Care, added:
“We are extremely grateful for such an amazing donation. This generous contribution will make a real difference. Thank you, so much!”
