Golding Homes sponsors Green School Awards
We are proud to be sponsoring Inspire School's Green School Awards 2020, which will showcase environmental campaigns and best practice within our schools.
The Green School Awards are staged to help children become more knowledgeable about our environment and how we can help protect and conserve it, encouraging eco-friendly behaviour. Focusing on the best school-led initiatives the categories for the awards are:
- green travel to school and road safety
- energy conservation
- nature conservation
- air pollution
- recycling
- health and wellbeing.
Schools are able to nominate themselves and can be anything from working on a recycling club, to going plastic-free or even using renewable energy. Nominations are now open and the deadline to enter is Sunday 1 December 2019. The winners will be announced at a special awards celebration evening in February 2020.
Sarah Leipnik, Golding Homes Community Development Advisor, said: "As a Housing Association we take green initiatives very seriously. We are always looking at innovative ways to make sure the way we develop our homes and the way we work is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The Green School Awards are a chance to work and learn from young people, and a great way to see how schools are working to help the environment around them and the wider community."
