Keeping you and your loved ones safe

Here at Golding we take your safety and the safety of your home very seriously.

Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy, we are doing more than ever before to make sure our buildings are safe. We have created a special Building Safety Team that is here for our customers and look after safety in our high-rise blocks.

There are lots of changes taking place, including new proposed laws and regulations, in how we should look after homes in high rises. Our new Building Safety Team has been making sure we are on top of all these requirements and working with fire safety experts to carry out special fire risk assessments and surveys to identify any work needed and arrange for this to be done.

It's important for you to know the evacuation plan for your home and what to do in the event of a fire. Please check the fire safety notices in the communal areas of your building or contact our Building Safety Team who can help you further.

The fire evacuation plan in the majority of our blocks is stay put, this is in line with guidance shared by the emergency services and National Fire Chiefs Council.

What does Stay Put mean?
If you are alerted to a fire, there are different actions you should take depending on the location of the fire:

  • Fire in your flat: Leave your flat, closing all doors behind you and call 999 when safe to do so
  • Fire in common areas: Only leave the building if you are in that area
  • Fire in another flat or another part of the building: Stay in your flat.

If you’re not directly affected by the fire, you can stay in your flat unless directed otherwise by the emergency services.

If at any time you feel under threat, you are of course still free to leave the building.
