What to do when moving out
When you let us know you’ll be moving out, our aim is to make sure your notice period runs smoothly and you move on happy to your next home with everything in hand. This includes leaving your home clean and clear and in a condition ready for us to provide for another customer.
Our expectation is simple: please leave your home clean, tidy, and clear of all belongings. This helps us get the property ready for the next customer quickly and efficiently.
Sometimes homes are left in poor condition. When this happens, it takes us longer to prepare the property for new customers, and it brings extra costs. These are costs that could have gone towards improving homes and communal areas for all our customers.
If you don’t leave your home in a clean and tidy state, we’ll charge you for the cost of putting things right. We understand that there may sometimes be genuine reasons why a customer can’t complete everything before moving out. We’ll consider these circumstances and be reasonable when deciding on any recharges.
When you inform us of your move, we’ll let you know exactly what is expected. We’ll visit and do an inspection of your home with you. You’ll get a clear list of what you need to leave clean and clear before you go. If these actions aren’t completed when you leave, we’ll charge you for our time and services to do the work ourselves. In some cases, if you’ve left a lot behind, we may ask you to return to finish the job.
This policy is in place to be fair to all customers and to avoid unnecessary costs that could be better spent on improving homes and shared spaces. If you’re going to be charged, we’ll contact you, explain the costs, and apply the recharge to an account in order to recover the money from you.
By following these steps, you help us keep our standards high for everyone and ensure that our resources are used for the benefit of everyone.
