Market rents are increasing in line with the markets by up to 5% . We're writing to customers to explain their rent increases and charges in more detail ahead of the changes.
For our shared ownership customers, we review rents as leases require. Leases do vary but for our current shared ownership customers rents are reviewed using September Retail Prices Index (RPI) plus 0.5%. More information can be found in the Shared Owners FAQs on the link below.
2025 changes to service charges
Service charges are affected by the cost of the services provided. Some service charge costs will increase in the coming year by 2.7%. Others are changing by contractual increases, according to usage, such as communal electricity, or we’ve estimated what we think the service will cost based on what it’s cost us over the last year. This’ll help us to continue to deliver the services we provide.
For rented customers, the core services we provide, such as repairs, are paid for by the rent. Other services that you receive, such as cleaning and grounds maintenance, are covered by service charges.
